The 160th Scottish Highland Gathering and Games are at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Labor Day Weekend 2024.
Established in 1866, the Scottish Highland Gathering and Games at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton is California's longest running Scottish Games featuring the very best of Scottish competitions.
This year's Games hosts the Women's World and the U.S. Men's & Women's Heavy Athletics Championships, as well as Highland Dancing, Piping and Drumming, and Soccer competitions, and a fun Kilted Mile race.
Live entertainment features Scottish Country Dancing, harpists and fiddlers, Scottish folk singers, Celtic Rock bands, pipe & military bands, and the spectacular sight and sounds of the Massed Bands.
Plus, you can sample the delights of traditional Scottish foods and drinks - including Whisky Tasting!
Clan Buchanan will be represented by Jill Sippel, please contact her with any queries or support. If you are available on Friday, 9/19 please let her know as we can always use help with set up.
Tent and display setup will be on Friday at 1 PM. We need help with setup, staffing the tent, greeting visitors, and recruiting new members during the two-day event. We could also use help with breakdown of the tent and displays after the games conclude.
Come join us in the Buchanan tent as we come together to celebrate our Buchanan heritage and Scottish History while having fun meeting new people and recruiting new members. Hope to see you there!
Alameda Fairgrounds also has their own year-round RV parking right across from the games, still within the same fairgrounds footprint.
