Hawaiian Scottish Festival, Highland Games and Ceilidh

  • President Thomas Jefferson Elementary School 324 Kapahulu Avenue Honolulu, HI, 96815 United States (map)

This is Hawaii's premier Scottish festival and Highland games. This is the event's 40th year and once again will be a 2-day event. It would be wonderful to see others proudly wearing their Buchanan kilts and sashes at the event. This is our first appearance at the games in many years. Come on out and connect with others celebrating Scottish heritage in the Hawaiian Islands.

The Festival features:

  • Highland games and athletics, men's and women's competition prizes (learn about the history of the athletic events)

  • Highland Dance competition

  • Entertainment including piping, music, song and dance

  • A gathering of Clans from around Hawaii, as well as from the mainland, to display information pertinent to themselves, and invite other members of the clan to join them

  • Demonstrations of swordplay, weaving, and fencing

  • Vendors featuring Scottish wear, Celtic clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, housewares, etc.

  • Food Vendors offering traditional Scottish fare, local grinds and more. (yes, even canned haggis!)

We welcome you to join Clan Buchanan at the Hawaiin Scottish Festival and Highland Games. Various items representing the proud history of Clan Buchanan will be on display. We will be there both days, so come visit and enjoy a wonderful day of Scottish entertainment, interacting with kin and clan, welcoming hospitality, food and athletics, while surrounded by the beauty of Hawaii.
